Definition
A measure of how readily a charge carrier moves through a material in response to an electric field, commonly expressed as drift velocity divided by electric-field strength.
Application
Used to compare semiconductor materials and process quality and to model conductivity, transistor drive current and transport; mobility depends on carrier type, temperature, doping, scattering and material structure.
