Definition
A material property describing how readily electric current flows through the material; it is the reciprocal of resistivity for a homogeneous isotropic material.
Application
Used to characterize semiconductor materials, doped regions, films and conductors. In semiconductors it is strongly influenced by carrier concentration and carrier mobility and therefore changes with doping, temperature and defects.
