Definition
Flash memory is a nonvolatile semiconductor memory that stores information without continuous power and can be electrically programmed and erased, with erasure performed in blocks or sectors; the two principal architectures are NAND flash and NOR flash.
Application
Flash memory is used for code storage and mass data storage: NOR supports fast random reads and execute-in-place uses, while NAND provides high-density storage for SSDs, mobile devices, memory cards, and data-center systems.
