Definition
A nonradiative three-carrier recombination process in which an electron-hole pair recombines and transfers its energy to a third carrier rather than emitting a photon.
Application
Included in semiconductor device and lifetime models at high carrier concentrations and in optoelectronic devices where Auger losses can reduce efficiency or limit carrier lifetime.
