Definition
The dependence of a MOSFET's threshold voltage on the voltage difference between its body and source, caused by changes in depletion charge beneath the gate.
Application
Used in device modeling and analog/digital circuit analysis because nonzero source-to-body bias can shift threshold voltage, alter drive current and change leakage or timing behavior.
