Final Test

13 Test, Reliability, Yield & Failure Analysis

Definition

Final test is the production electrical test performed on packaged semiconductor devices, typically after assembly, using automated test equipment and handlers to verify functional and parametric requirements before shipment or downstream system use.

Application

At final test, packaged devices are contacted in sockets or contactors and exercised against production test programs so failing units can be screened and passing devices can be binned or graded before customer delivery.
