Definition
A negatively charged elementary particle; in a semiconductor, electrons occupying available conduction-band states can act as mobile charge carriers.
Application
Electrons carry n-type current, participate with holes in generation and recombination, respond to electric fields, and are stored, transferred or trapped in many semiconductor device and memory structures.
